This was just reported this morning, that A-Rod was summoned down to Tampa to meet with the boss:

New York Yankees owner George Steinbrenner challenged Alex Rodriguez last month to become more of a leader, Sports Illustrated reported Tuesday on its Web site, citing an unnamed baseball source.

Using rough language, Steinbrenner demanded A-Rod expand his own responsibility and become more of a leader on and off the field, Sports Illustrated reported, citing the source.

"I didn't bring you here to be just one of the guys," Steinbrenner said, SI reported, citing the source.

Steinbrenner reportedly said that although Derek Jeter is the captain and leader of the Yankees, Rodriguez can augment that by doing more himself, Sports Illustrated reported, citing the unnamed source.

That is so hysterical....A-Rod, you just got punk'd!!!!!

Bet you never thought that would happen to you!!!!

do you have a link to the story? Steinbrenner ruffled Jeter's feathers last year too when he called him into his office and yelled at him about his nightlife. I guess we'll be seeing some AMEX commercials with the Boss and A-Rod now...

Arod is going to have a career year and raise that average back to where it should be. Hell yeah he should be a leader.

wow, slow news day.

Who honestly thinks A-rod needs steinbrennar to motivate him? I sure dont. A-Rod is gonna bounce back and have another MVP type season, but it wont be because of this "punking".
