Cameron for P. Wilson?

Postby Sp_Da_Man » Tue Feb 01, 2005 12:34 pm

I just pulled this off of rotoworld.com, Cameron's #'s at COL would be pretty nice.

According to Newsday, the Rockies have offered Preston Wilson to the Mets for Mike Cameron.
We still don't see how this works for the Mets. Both players have $12 million left on their contracts, but Cameron is signed for the extra year. With all the questions surrounding his knee, it just isn't a very good bet that Wilson will be an upgrade in 2005. Feb. 1 - 5:11 am et

If Wilson is healthy I think he would be easier to trade than Cameron. Cameron is going to miss at least the first month.

wow - this is pretty big news.

Apparantly the Mets wouldnt mind trading defense for hitting and the rockies want more defense at the cost of hitting.

I agree, I actually like this deal for both teams. Although I would avoid P. Wilson at all costs playing in Shea.

the mets should trade cameron for bullpen help and let victor diaz play right field. Cameron is gonna miserable all year playing RF and his offense is nothing to write home about anyway. If they could get a solid bullpen arm or some prospects for him, i would do it.

They dont need preston wilson.

He's not expected to miss that much time now.

At one time it just seemed "right" that Wilson end up in a Mets uniform. That time has passed. I'd keep Cammy.

I just saw that. Seems he has been cleared for everything but swinging at full speed and he will be released to do that in early March.
