I think the more important question here is why is Juan Gone still playing?

I don't think it's Hafner that Gonzalez would compete against, it's Broussard. The idea is that if Juan's stick is good enough still, he goes to DH to protect him from injury, Hafner goes to 1B, and Broussard goes to the bench. Frankly, it isn't hard to imagine someone beating Broussard at hitting.

Any Clevelanders out there?

I don't think Hafner is going anywhere. He'll be playing regularly, either at 1B or DH. The real question is, why are they sending Sizemore back to the minors in favor of Juan Gone?!?!? Sizemore has great potential and he's due to be given a chance to play regularly in the bigs. Juan Gone is just a setback in the player development of the Cleveland farm system.

Welcome to the cafe!!!!, if nobody has said so yet.

Me personaly on this thread, I wouldnt let Juan Gone effect my value of Hafner even .000000000000001% :-D , well maybe exagerating a little.

Good post retraj2

Well, the word on the street is, after 5 games in yahoo this year you are eligable at that position. That can only be good news for him.

i think the question about where hafner is going to play is relevant. if he gets eligibility at 1B, that would boost his fantasy value. ;-D

eric wedge says

Juan has got to be able to play the outfield because we don't have any DH at-bats for him

i think the indians are in no rush with sizemore. if juan gone somehow pulls it off, anyone remembers 2001, they will keep sizemore playing in the minors. if juan gone gets injured or whatever, then they bring up sizemore again. don't think is that bad of a plan.

Juan is not an issue for Haffner he will be the DH.
Broussard is the one that will be effected

Just making sure you knew: if Yahoo's new eligibility rules stand, Hafner will have 1B eligibility at the start of the season.

How can they bench Broussard for Juan Gone?

Broussard's 2nd Half: .300/.395/.595/.990 13 HR, 43 RBI, in 210 AB's.

How do ya bench this guy for Juan Gone?
