I have two canidates for the forest gump award in 2005.

Going unmentionedin forum that I can see so far.

Kenny Lofton (knock his age whatever will steal ya 30 bags)

Luis Terrero (May get a starting job look for 30 bags gauranteed)

Lofton and Thome back together could be like old times. Real old times with how old they are getting.

Creative title SPEEDY, I like it.

How about Chris Burke for more steals than expected?

My OF rankings are not polished enough to suggest any more players or critique your current mentions.

Good call on Chris Burke, he's had some solid steals numbers in the minors ;-D

Most people on this board probably have factored this in, but Roberts will be playing full time again. It is tough to see how he will not steal at least 40 if given 500+ ABs.

Also consider anyone in Toronto as likely to have an uptick. No one ran his guys less than Tosca, so even if the new guy steals only as much as the average MLB manager, guys like Wells could easily wind up with 15+ SBs. Also helping the Wells case is the fact that no one of consequence is hitting behind him.

I love for Juan Pierre to return to his previous level after being down a little last season.

Love him too, but Pierre is not exactly sleeper category. There are a bunch of 2nd basemen with speed. Burke, Figgins, Roberts, etc... In the outfield, Hairston will swipe you 30 if Dusty allows him to run. Coco Crisp can give you 25. A true sleeper is tike Redman. He CAN run, he just does not do it. I think that Lofton will be a good canditate that will be available in the late rounds.

Chone Figgins is a good bet. Good call on Burke. I still love Carl Crawford, although not a sleeper, he has the power and the speed...why sacrifice any category?

Good call on Dave Roberts. I like Reed and also Gathwright.

Gathright will be hard pressed for playing time this year but if he plays he will steal a ton. Freel could also be a good source of SB if he gets playing time.
