Unique, realistic fantasy league needs owners

Mendoza Baseball is a unique franchise ownership simulation game that is designed to simulate the economics, strategies and transaction rules of MLB as closely as possible. The scoring is based on a complex but intuitive system that incorporates the latest sabermetric research.

Among other features, Mendoza Baseball has:

* An e-Bay style free agent auction
* 40-man rosters, with 25 active spots
* The ability to develop and keep prospects
* The ability to sign veterans to multi-year contracts
* A full-blown economic model where teams compete to earn profits as well as wins
* Very deep AL-only and NL-only leagues (11-14 teams)
* A very high owner return rate (~80%)

This game is definitely not for the faint of heart, but if you've been successful at traditional fantasy games and are looking for a new challenge, this could be the game you've been looking for. The cost is $30 per team for stats and website. Plus you pay your total payroll into a pot that is divided among all participants. The formula is part revenue-sharing and part reward for winning, so you can make money as either a George Steinbrenner or a Billy Beane. If there are any Peter Angeloses out there, I really want you in one of my leagues, the Mendoza AL Classic of the Bill Caudill Memorial League. ;-)

Can't play without money. However, I would note that you're almost guaranteed to make a profit if you field a team with a payroll of less than $50. So you'd have to come up with $80 up front, but would get anywhere from $50 - $100 back at the end of the year, depending on how your team does. The only way this league costs very much is if you spend big and your team does poorly.

Caudill League is now full. I still have one spot left in the flagship Mendoza AL Classic. This is a great league that has been together for seven years, so I'll be very picky at filling it. However, I know there are some other leagues, both AL and NL, looking for owners.
