What kind of numbers will he put up this year? What would you be willing to pay for him in an auction league ($260)?

He should be awful, I wouldn't spend a dime on him }:-)

Well I'm in an auction league here too and I don't want to say what I think he's worth...

But I think Looper will be a decent reliever again, somewhere around 30 Saves. With Strickland back he should see less of those 2 inning outings so his IP will drop some. He really improved his control last year so if that keeps up I think a ~2.75 ERA again is realistic.

k/9 for last three years is 5.76, 6.25, 6.48 - steadily rising
k/bb for last three years is 1.96, 1.93, 3.75 - big jump last year

Assuming good health and the Mets winning 85 games, I see Looper saving 32 to 35 games this year with ERA less than last years 2.71.

He does let hitters make contact more than you would like in a closer, for that reason he will have a few rough outings. Having said that I still see him as a decent closing option who will probably be undervalued. Not sure if his IP will drop much, with more save opportunities expected this season. Expect 35 saves with an ERA around 3.00 and a 1.20 odd WHIP.

He's not great, but last year was a big improvement for him. I wouldn't trust him as my #1 closer though. And I'm in a cafe auction league so I'm not going to post what I think he's worth :-D
