I think we already are looking at a .500 season - we got that when we signed Percival. We had something like 30 blown leads in the 8th inning or later last yr, so having Percy and Uggey as one of the best setup/closer tandems in baseball already bought us those 10 extra wins.
My sights are higher. If we sign Maggs and he's able to contribute immediately, I see us giving the AL Central a run for the money. Of course it all depend on injuries, but on paper, our lineup is as good as anyone and arguably much deeper. If our young pitchers develop the way they should - specifically the MR guys like Colyer, Rodney, Spurling, etc... - we can be right in the thick of things come September.
.500 will be underachieving. Only injuries can slow this year's team down, and even then the Tigers are pretty deep.
The difference between the Tigers being average and very good, I think, will be how much more the young starting rotation develops this year. With the extra bullpen help and another year with Pudge and Inge, I think that improvement will be VERY noticeable.

High Joe!!! Hey, Me thinks we were .500 last year weren't we? Damn, close if not. Yes, we should have a pretty good bull pin this year, and some pretty fair hitting and run production. I think the biggest question mark is still pitching. Some of the younger guys, have some serious potential and could be real keepers, but who knows.
I think the same type of ultra-positive reports come out of every camp, but it sounds like Bonderman and Ledezma are looking pretty fierce in their early sessions. Great potential in the entire starting 5, very exciting stuff.
