Any chance he gets a full time job at some point this year in LA-ANA-LA-DISNEYLAND?

He was smoking at the end of last year for the Expos. When they still existed. Good pickup, I thought, but there doesn't look to be a lot of room...

the angels OF has garrett, vlad, and finley in place. Perhaps he could earn a DH spot, though.

I don't doubt that he could have a breakout year, but I don't think it's going to happen.

With the outfield full of guys that tend to be injury free, that leaves Rivera, Davanon, Kotchman, and Quinlan all fighting for DH time. To make matters worse, assuming Kennedy gets his job back when he returns, Scioscia has said will find a way to keep Figgins in the lineup.

It's a shame he's getting buried like this. Rotoworld speculated that he could be traded when Finley was signed, but there hasn't been even one rumor about that since. Maybe if Kendry Morales has a great spring the Angels will be so crowded that they will trade? :-? :-)

I've been following this closely as I have him in my keeper league with 2 years left on his contract at just $1. I keep trying to figure out if I should just eat his season of non-full-time at bats this year, or trade him to someone this preseason who doesn't realize the logjam. Right now might be his maximum value.

They've been saying on MLB radio that the DH job is Rivera's to lose.

The DH job might be his... but Kotchman is too good for the bench of AAA. Then there's Quinlan and Davanon too... Davanon is a very good hitter and I can't believe he doesn't have a starting spot. I think the Finley signing was one of the worst of the offseason.

I just can't see Rivera being a full-time DH because it keeps those other quality guys on the bench.

That's what makes the Angels so good in "real" baseball is their depth. Davanon is a proven asset, and they can't just keep him on the bench every game.
