Santana had a 5.61 ERA and 1.49 WHIP on June 3 last season.
From that point, he went 1.50 ERA and 0.71 WHIP.
In light of his those last four months, 2.61 and 0.92 WOULD be a drop-off. I'll take those numbers, even if they're not skewed by offseason elbow surgery.

I'll just say that there are going to be a lot of disappointed Santana owners and believers come July or so.

Slightly worse. And when I say slightly worse, I mean take the smallest numbers to diminish his stats. I'm sorry but I never saw such a streak of dominance by a pitcher (wasnt born when herscheiser through those scoreless innings) and it just boggled my mind. I expect Santana to keep baffling hitters again this year.
