His win total from last year might let him slip a little but I would say if you can get him in the 5th it is a great pickup.

On one hand this guy looks like one of the best 4-5 young arms in baseball. But if you look alittle closer at his season, he has some faults. First of all, like most pitchers that break onto the scene, the league will adjust to him somewhat. Second, big Z has a bit of a temper when things don't go his way. He is easily flustered and can lose his composure. Third, he constantly offended umpires and opposing players. If he continues to make enemies, it will come back to haunt him IMO. That being said, I would still draft him in the 2nd or 3rd round.

Really. To have C. Zambrano as your #3 you would have to ick 3 of you first 4 or 5 picks as pitchers...not wise, IMO.

I find the debates on pitchers interesting. People are even more biased than with the hitters. Like what pitcchers is a sure thing? An early 20's stud with excellent stuff. As pitching risks go, how many are better?

Either that, or i'm just not as sold as most other people are on him. If i was able to take him at 3, id grab him, but probably nothing higher. I still would like to see another year of what he did in 04.

Carlos Zambrano is a BEAST!! you should draft him somewhere between rounds 3-6. The only thing that scares me is Dusty Baker is the cubs head coach and he has a terrible tendency to keep pitchers in games to long and over work their arms. If healthy Zambrano should have another great season. His career K per 9 ratio is 7.56 you gotta like that!! I expect something like:

17-6 2.88 era 202 K's
Straight Cash Homeyyy!!
