You couldn't reasonably expect him to be good, could you? There are reasons that the Astros dropped him and it took awhile for someone else to sign him. He's been lucky. It had to even out. His current cumulative era is where I'll expect him to stay, give or take. Sorry you got screwed, but that's like betting the farm that Rey Ordonez will continue to stay hot.

I had Shane Reynolds in my lineup today too.

one bad start doesn't make a pitcher terrible though he did get rocked though.

I am thinking of dropping him in favor of Franklin of Seatle, I would hope he could beat the Tigers tomorrow.

This start or not, I wouldn't want Reynolds on my team. As was said, the Astros disliked him so much that they waived him. The guy is also well past his prime. While he might give you an occasional win here and there, you'll never get great numbers in categories like Ks and WHIP. So I'd rather gamble with somebody else.

Don't feel bad dude. I feel that almost any starter vs Milwaukee is quite a good bet. At the very least you can always expect K's and to have an excellent shot at a fat W.

The only good thing is that Reynolds probably landed in his best possibly situation - Atlanta... View him as a wild card and he may give you a boost. Count on him and you'll finish in the second division. You hold the trump card, my friend. Or, maybe you don't. Wasn't it ESPN that dubbed him "Sugar Shane?" Bitter sweet!!!

welp, this is what can happen when you're starting a pitcher who's fastball is in that 83-86 MPH range. jamie moyer owners beware, although he's got far more guile than shane reynolds.

shane is the epitome of risk/reward pitchers. i think we've all had those quick little nifty free agent pickups where we think we've got a gem, but in reality we got a guy who just rode a little streak before not just returning to earth, but being buried in it.
