OK, so I did this trade. I traded away John Smoltz for Tom Glavine. I was short a starter, and had an extra reliever. I may regret this, but I mainly felt Glavine is as solid as they come, and Smoltz, though he may rack up lots of saves, might be overrated, I think he'll get lit up, and might not stay heathly the entire season. Still, I wince at the possible SVs and reliever SO's Smoltz would have provided. Still, Glavines Win total may be worth it, after all, nothing more easier to get off the waiver wire than SV's, right?
Based on a straight up deal, would you have made this trade?
I would have done it, too. Defínitely!
I simply LIKE Tom Glavine. Even especially his WHIP has risen quite a lot last year, I think he will post better numbers this year - he will do quite a job for you (and me, as I have him on my roster, too).
Giving up Smoltz is ok, he will be a solid reliever this year, but not more I guess
