Avatar Resizing Request

Hey guys, I have no clue how to do this without ruining the quality or cutting parts of the pic off. Could someone please shrink this into an avatar that fits for the Cafe? 80x80 Thanks a lot and if you could cut off the writing on the left side that would perfect. If her face ends up being tiny, part of the bottom could be cut to make that bigger. Use your judgement or show me both options I guess.

And if someone would actually like to do it, meaning that they'd do it just for enjoyment and it wouldn't be a pain to do, I may come up with a sig request, but I'd have to pick pictures first

I just got Photoshop and was able to resize it, but the image is 13kb, and the avatar limit is 6kb. Is there some way to knock it down to that level?

Nevermind, I got it, but I'm not sure how

I made it a GIF and must have done something else.

Could anyone tell me some good ways to reduce file size for future reference?

First of all save it as a JPEG(it's smaller than a GIF), if it's still too big then go to File-Save for Web and reduce the quality until it's under the limit. That's the way I did my Avatar anyway

I prefer GIFs for avatars. I haven't found an 80x80 avatar that's exceeded 6KB with 256 colors. Actually, if it looks good enough, GIFs are better for everything since it's lossless.
