I'm looking for some steals in my dynasty team. I was wondering if he was going to get any playing time at CF. I think if given the starting job he would be a sleeper candidate. What do you guys project him for this coming season?

Rotoworld.com said Dave Roberts will start in center and hit leadoff against righties in a late December update. If that is the case, Roberts could be a great steals target, espectially in NL-only leagues.

He is worth adding or trading for at the right price in your dynastly league.

Sorry, I do not have any projections.

Roberts will be a spark plug this year, great steals guy and health withstanding 100 runs scored.

I'm dorta hazy on dave roberts. a little suspicious. if he starts for the year, he'll get a lotta runs and stolen bases, but there is a good chance that he may not start, so I wouldn't recommend him to you until everything gets cleared up.

I totally agree Rico. I see him as a great sleeper for steals. My biggest concern is that with all the pub the deal got and he got last October that too many people will know about him and he'll no longer be a viable sleeper cuz someone will take him too early.

All experience owners know what the deal is with Roberts. I would consider him a mild sleeper only because he might slip a bit unde rthe Radar of an owner or two. Plus he is sort of a 1 category specialist (maybe two). SBs and not much else except for maybe some runs. Avg is not going to help and his HRs and RBis are Pierre-like. If you hate Pierre as a fantasy option, you will really hate Roberts. He went pretty late in my first keeper league draft (183 overall).

Well, Roberts ain't a spring chicken, so I'm not surprised he went that late in a keeper. He would go substansially higher in a normal league, in the middle rounds somewhere.

Not really...maybe 20 or 30 ordinals higher. Still pretty far down the list. We keep 8 (12 team) so once you are past the first 10-12 or so picks, most team owners will revert to best option. Rookie fliers go late in the draft.
