Mark Loretta is worth sixteen more auction dollars than Jose Vidro on my draft sheet.

it's been two years now that i have been disappointed with vidro...too many injuries. i love that he can hit above .300, but so does loretta. loretta was a nice surprise for me last year. took him in one of my teams not expecting much and he had a solid season. in 05, i'd take loretta over vidro. i just can't trust vidro anymore.

Loretta easily for me. He was always a good bat in part time duty and has developed enough pop to annualy hit 10-15HR given the full time roll.

He is 3 years older than Vidro but a much more consistent player and I believe his offense will provide more support in 2005 than Vidro's will.

The biggest reason I like him moer though is his stadium. He has always been a batter that hits to the gap for doubles, a stadium to which Petco is perfect for. He ended up with 47 doubles last year, tied with 4 other batters for 6th of all in baseball, and he will continue to rack up doubles.

I can see his AVE dipping a little but he will still be well above .300. His other numbers should stay right about where they were last year.

Total bases as an extra category :-D . He loves the gap and will continue to rack up doubles. Take Loretta and run.

all the way

I agree with trev on this one. You want an explaination?

Well, Loretta is 3 years older and here is some biased stats :-D

(number of years in career)

Average over .300 in a season:

Vidro (5) 99,00,01,02,03

Loretta (3) 98,03,04

15+ HR in a season:

Vidro (4) 00,01,02,03

Loretta (1) 04

95+ RBI in a season:

Vidro (2) 00,02

Loretta (0)

75+ Runs in a season:
Vidro (4) 00,01,02,03

Loretta (1) 04

Career OPS:

Vidro .837

Loretta .780

That is why I pick Jose, and you can get him later in the draft too ;-D

Anytime you have a 50/50 choice between two players, 90% of the time, you'll get it wrong
