it's been two years now that i have been disappointed with vidro...too many injuries. i love that he can hit above .300, but so does loretta. loretta was a nice surprise for me last year. took him in one of my teams not expecting much and he had a solid season. in 05, i'd take loretta over vidro. i just can't trust vidro anymore.
Loretta easily for me. He was always a good bat in part time duty and has developed enough pop to annualy hit 10-15HR given the full time roll.
He is 3 years older than Vidro but a much more consistent player and I believe his offense will provide more support in 2005 than Vidro's will.
The biggest reason I like him moer though is his stadium. He has always been a batter that hits to the gap for doubles, a stadium to which Petco is perfect for. He ended up with 47 doubles last year, tied with 4 other batters for 6th of all in baseball, and he will continue to rack up doubles.
I can see his AVE dipping a little but he will still be well above .300. His other numbers should stay right about where they were last year.
Total bases as an extra category . He loves the gap and will continue to rack up doubles. Take Loretta and run.
"Son we would like to keep you around here but were trying to win a pennant this year."
