Low Stakes Rookie League

Postby contrastiktion » Fri Jan 07, 2005 11:02 am

I'd like to find 10 or 12 other (TRUSTWORTHY) people with 1-2 years experience, to throw down 20-40 bucks on a league (keeper maybe?). Scoring and format (as well as Draft syle) is negotiable, but last year i played in a 6X6 H2H and enjoyed it very much... but i think i'd be willing to give roto a shot. Last year was my first year. I was in a yahoo free league and won it all.... proably due to manager inactiveness (inactivity?). I live in the Souther CA area (Long Beach), but am willing to play w/ anyone, anywhere... respond here if you are interested

Im interested, this sounds like the type of league that I have been looking for. mailto:CheeseBeger@hotmail.com

I've been playing for 3-4 years but this would be my first money league.

I think keeper style would be fun too.

I would personally like the 6X6 or 5X5 Head to Head, perferably without a Playoffs at the end...

I'm entering my third year of fantasy baseball and would definitely be interested in a league like this. I'd especially like to do it as a keeper since I've yet to do a keeper league. I like having playoffs in a head-to-head though. One thing we did in both of my leagues last year was to award a portion of the winnings to the regular-season champ. That way if you have the best team over the course of a long season, you don't go away empty-handed because of one ill-timed bad week. We did 25% for regular season champ; 25% for playoff runnerup; and 50% for playoff champ, but certainly the percentages can be adjusted differently or this suggestion can be ignored completely. :-D If we do 6x6, I'm in favor of holds and OPS, but I'm plenty flexible about categories. I'd also be willing to do roto if that's what more people prefer.

You can reach me at mailto:downeyko44@yahoo.com. Thanks.

cool, cool...

i was hoping to have a couple more replies by now tho

i like the 25/25/50 idea... thats basically what we've done in our FF league

i'll keep bumping this untill we have a lil over half of our quota filled... then we can work out the details over email... mine is:

mailto:rockwelldropbomb@hotmail.com

i imagine as spring grows nearer, there will be more people scrambling to find a league... i may invite the fellas in my FF league as well, as you all are invited to do...

okay, anyone else interested in a lil low stakes "newbie" league?
