Dunno if hje's going to be the starter, but I don't really see much to recommend. High BA and some decent chance for steals, but not much else. He certainly won't provide much in HRs, and I doubt he'll bat high enough to be a R or RBI contributor.

Off the top of my head (and I own him cheap in a deep keeper league) .285/.330/380, with 65R 5HR 40 RBI and 10 SB in 500 at-bats.
Now let's check Shandler: .264/.343/.391 with 70 R 4HR 37 RBI and 17 SB in 398 at-bats.
