That's his guess I don't think we will be able to prove this anyway.
I just remember being totally shocked when I saw he signed with the Anah....oops the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

I thought one was the Mets, he is telling me I am wrong.
Does anybody remmeber this? Any documented proof would be great.
The Mets submitted an insulting offer to him. Technically they were in the bidding, but Vlad's agent dismissed them well before the contenders were narrowed down. It was an embarrassing pre-rejection rejection. I think their offer was literally half of what he was asking for in terms of term and monetary comp. The Mets said they weren't certain how his back would hold up.
We all know how off that was. Hence, a new GM this year. So, to answer your question, he was never close to signing with the Mets.
Best way to prove is is to check Vlads's Archive at rotoworld.com and back track from when he signed, but I am sure that the mets and orioles were in the mix.

How do you spell "biased?"
