ORANJESTAD, Aruba (AP) -- Baltimore Orioles pitcher Sidney Ponson was released from jail on Tuesday after being held for a week while police investigated allegations he punched a judge on a beach in Aruba

To be honest, I think Sir Sid is the classic million dollar arm, ten cent head example.

However, in his defense, there's more to this story. First of all, it's not like this guy was wearing his black robe on the beach. According to the stories I've read, Ponson and friends were riding skimmers and things out in the water when this judge and several others called them in to the beach, apparently to complain about what they felt was reckless behavior. It's not clear at this point how things heated up and who turned the confrontation physical, with both sides having witnesses blaming the others.
