A thought of mine to give players a little more incentive to play better. Starting on May 1st:

1. Any hitter whose avg is below .230 must where big puffy Red hair to the plate and in the field until such time as his avg gets above .230.

2. Any hitter hitting below .200 must not only where the hair, but a big red clown nose.

3. Any pitcher with an ERA over 5 must wear the hair when pitching.

4. Any pitcher with an ERA above 6 must wear the nose too.

5. Any player that Ks more than 140 times in the prior season, must also wear big red floppy shoes for the entire next season. Man you would see those Ks drop. Ame for any pitcher with an ERA over 7.

This helps the casual fan identify the clowns without the aid of a scorecard.
