I have noticed that he has C eligability for next year. What do people think of him? Was his BA last year an aberration? The easy answer is yes since he has a career .244 BA in the minors and could barely hit his weight in previous MLB seasons, but is there another explanation for this 04 numbers? Could it be that since he is such a small guy that avoiding the wear and tear of playing C was responsible for some of the BA uptick? As for this season, will get get consistent PT or just start against lefties with spot time against righties?
If he can repeat last year and gets PT this year, it would seem that he could provide good value at C. Then again, I gambled with Jason Phillips last year and came up short big time.
Inge is a solid value candidate @ C. Those in the organization say his newfound plate discipline that he showed last yr was a natural progression, not a fluke, but Im pretty skeptical about it myself. He will be the starting 3B and will have plenty of ABs to prove himself this yr.
I agree that he is WW material regardless, but I am in an auction league and I would rather pick Inge up for $1 at the end of the auction than blow $10 in Ramon Hernandez or someone like that who will probably do little more than Inge. Plus, there is value in having a C that plays every day--you get a lot more Rs and RBIs than a guy who plays 120 games.
To me, Inge is worth a back-up spot on a fantasy roster. I would not overpay, but having multiple eligibility including C could be of value if one of your main players goes down. I would keep an eye on him in spring training. If he is showing the same discipline, then it is obviously more likely that he will play more.

How do you spell "biased?"

completely agree. Ill put a bid of $2 on him though.
