Will he be the best SS in the league now that he's with the BoSox? No, and I really don't understand the logic.

i agree rollins is nothing too good at all. The only think he'll get you is a batting average over 300 and MAYBE 30 steals. I also think that you can put edgar in front of jeter. He just hasnt been producing the numbers like he used too

2004 stats for Jeter, Rollins and Renteria.
AVG-------RUNS-------HR ----------RBI-------STEALS
289-------- 119-------- 14--------- 73--------- 30
292-------- 111-------- 23--------- 78--------- 23
287-------- 84--------- 10--------- 72--------- 17
can you guess whose is whose
I will give you a hint Renteria comes in last in all cats.

rollins ahead of renteria? simply by the numbers:
rollins:
190H/657AB 119R 14HR 73RBI 30SB .289AVG
renteria:
168H/586AB 84R 10HR 72RBI 17SB .287AVG
agreed, rollins' number were way out of the ordinary based on the last two years, but renteria's numbers were simply ordinary and completely in line with his career averages. have a look:
avg: .287 (career .289)
slg: .401 (career .400)
ops: .728 (career .746)
nearly identical. i don't see renteria suprising anyone this year even in boston. i do believe he's going to hit a little better in boston, and steal around 20 bases, but boston's offense is not that much better than st. louis so i believe we can look for similar numbers if his plate discipline does not match what he did in 2003. however, rollins is 26 and nearly in his prime, he should continue to hit well and score runs with abreu thome, etc. i have ss like this:
tejada
young
jeter
garciaparra
rollins
renteria
