Decent signing.
At least his bat can't possibly be any slower than Tony Clark's was.

Thank God. Tino is back where he rightfully belongs, and where he never should have left in the first place...
Welcome home, Tino.

Well I think it is fair to say that Tino was pretty much over the hill when the Yanks let him move on. The numbers have shown that. Now the signing of Giambi as the replacement was obviously a total disaster, but I do not think you can argue that they should have stuck with Tino from the get go. The Cards basically paid TB to get rid of him. He is a decent fallback option at this point and certainly can contribute and play acceptable for us IMO. But he is not going to be a 3-6 htter anymore. Hindsight is 20-20 and it is easy to say we would have been better off just keeping him. But no one knew Giambu was a total meltdown in the making.

My favorite move of the off season. I couldn't be happier Tino came home. And before people keep saying hes over the hill his bat has slowed blah blah realize I am saying this from a fans perspective not a fantasy team owner. As a lifelong yankee fan my interest in the team is fading fast how can oyu be a fan when the ankees are just whoever cost the most the previous off season.
3 worst yankee trades in recent years...
1. Boomer for Clemens
2. Soriano for Arod
3. Tino for Giambi (i know it wasnt a trade but i think you know what i mean)

how in the world was boomer for clemens a bad move. Clemens was great as a yankee and boomer came back for peanuts two years later.(after a horrible, injury plagued year) I can undrstand that boomer was a decent clubhouse guy, but its not like the rocket caused problems.
Great to have tino back. As much as i love seeing the yanks get superstars it's good to see the signing of a class act like tino. His contributions in the clubhouse will be great. If he hits .280 with 20 HR and 75 RBI I'll be thrilled
welcome home andy

Yeah, no way Wells for Clemens was bad. Clemens was a big part of 2 World Championships and he won the 2001 Cy Young. What Cy Young did David Wells ever win?
