johnson has been such a disappointment since coming up from the minor leagues. sure injuries played a big part, but he hasn't played all that well. I guess that high OBA in the minors didn't mean much
I feel the same about Broussards stats - my concern is Blake. Just how many at bats will he suck up from Broussard. My other option is to spend twice as much money on Pena (this league has set salaries). The rest of my offense has - bond-drew-blalock-nomar-bay-posada left from last year (h2h) so I need someone at 1st who will get the at bats.
I think Blake ends up in the OF. In Wash., with all of their OF, and Wilkerson's ability to play 1B, I'm not so sure Johnson has a job right now. I'd go with Broussard.

Dawg has it right..... pass on Johnson... unless the Washington team has a lot of injuries in the Spring. Johnson has talent, but we have not seen much of it so far.

Hmmm, that's interesting. I was thinking just about the opposite, i.e., that Johnson is more likely to have guaranteed ABs than Broussard. If Johnson gets the ABs he won't hurt you, though it'd be nice to see more power out of your 1B.
Really, I think both situations are difficult to assess right now. The Expos/Nationals are still in a bit of limbo, and who knows how things will play out in CLE. Hate to say it, but you probably need to wait until spring training.
If you have to make a decision now, then take Broussard if you are willing to take the risk, or go with Johnson as the safer pick.
C'mon where's the Nick the Stick nickname of a year ago??
I take Johnson only because I don't believe the Indians fully believe in Broussard. I think it's fairly certain Johnson has a starting job (on some team) to begin 2005.
