there are usually a couple sites with this info. just search for 2006 free agents. it is hard to come up with a comprehensive list because many players sign one year deals or have options and that kind of stuff. anyway, this should get you started. it was made in nov. so guillen is still listed with anaheim and there are probably other changes.

I know it SEEMS like they SHOULD, with the extra motivation and all, but DO they play better?
Quotes like "just look at Adrian Beltre" are now considered recognized by the jury... so what else do we have?
It seems that way, but the many discussions on this issue on this board, supported by actual stats of every contract year player each year, have exposed it as a baseball myth.
there have been studies. i think we discussed this last year so you can search for that thread if you want to read it. if i remember correctly the studies showed that there isnt any league wide significant improvement when players are in a contract year. if a particular player always does significantly better in a contract year then feel free to incorporate it into your rankings. however, merely noting that player X is in a contract year does not mean that he will do significantly better than prior years. people seem to remember the 2004 adrian beltre but forget the 2003 miguel tejada.
