First of all. Duane Allman WAS a slide guitarist. His brother Gregg was and is the keyboardist of the all man brother band. Also duane did Not crash into a peach truck and the album eat a peach was Not named after the accident. He crashed into a lumber truck and reportedly struck the ball of the lumber crane. Additionally duane allman was a much more complicated, faster, talented, better sounding, sophisticated, guitarist than eric clapton will ever be. Only mainstream people like eric clapton better because no one takes the time to listen to duane allmans guitar work because its usually half way through a 45 minute jam. i feel bad for you

I assume you are saying this in reference to a clapton vote. whats funny about that is that Clapton was not even the best guitarist on that record. The parts you enjoy so much, you are hearing the guitar work of the great Duane Allman. That would be the higher guitar in the main riff plus all the fantastic slide work during the slower second half of the song.

as the newcomer pointed out so well, this is all nonsense. Duane Allman played slide guitar for the Allman Brothers, Gregg Allman played organ and sang, and Dickey Betts played the other lead guitar. Duane Allman also hit a flatbed truck that was in no way associated with peaches. The album Eat a Peach is simply a reference to the band being from Gerogia.
