i would be happy taking him at the end of the first round. swinging back to me. i rather have him then beltran. craws numbers are improving each year...

He's worth a lot more in a Roto league then in a H2H league in my opinion. Most weeks in h2h all you need is 5-6 steals to win that category. I wouldn't touch him in the first 3 rounds myself.

i say if you want to win steals in a roto league draft him 2nd round earliest.... if you are in a head-2-head league, i suggest you draft him 4-5th round. He's just runs and sb's so it's up to u wat you want ur team to be good oat.

I can't possibly see him lasting past the 3rd round. I would take him early 2nd.

i would take him somewhere around round 3-4, but the way it sounds on this board he will be long gone by then(late first, early 2nd picks)......

Excellent question btw...I love questions like this on players that I'm curious about in regards to draft position.

The past 2 years, I've grabbed Crawford in rounds 7-10...somewhere around there and it's GREAT to not have to scour box scores all year for steals (and saves). For that alone, he's worth an early pick (early 3rd?). The same goes for an elite closer.

Grabbing Crawford allows you to let other managers hunt for steals in unknowns like Chone Figgins or unpredictable guys like Alex Sanchez.

I'll take Crawford .296/50 over Podsednik .250/70 any day.

I like Juan Pierre too, but I'd rather have Crawford, for obvious reasons.

I'm my ESPN keeper league, I'm keeping Pierre as one of my 5 for the simple fact that consistent steals are hard to come by.

Stud 1B/OF are a dime a dozen it seems. At least the dropoff to the next tier isn't that pronounced. Give me Gagne/Crawford in rounds 2/3 over Helton/Sheffield.

I like Crawford for the late 2nd/early 3rd round, but not just to load up on steals. I'm seeing a breakout season for his numbers across the board.
