From everything I've seen John Buck will be catching for KC next year, anyways my sleeper catcher for next year is J.D. Closser for COL ;-D

Eli would be a decent guy to have if he played every day and got enough games at catcher to qualify. He'd probably only hit .260s but he can steal a few bases, which is nice.

What about Todd Greene in Col?

What about this Chris Shelton I've been reading about?

I may be wrong but Chris Shelton is a minor leaguer outfielder with the Tigers.

We claimed Shelton as a rule 5 a yr or two ago. He will see plenty of bench time in the bigs, but wont get much action behind Irod and Inge. He projects to be a solid hitter and has excelled at every level so far. My guess is that he is still a good yr away from making a fantasy impact.

Speaking of Inge - Im not sure of how much he can be considered a sleeper, but definitely someone for you to keep in mind when looking for Cs. ;-D

Marrero did not catch last year, and KC does not intend to use him at catcher.

Miguel Olivo would be a nice sleeper if he can get at bats from Wilson (and he should). I like Bengie Molina, but he never gets enough ABs. Pierzynski should be OK depending on where he ends up. Whoever starts in Colorado (CJ, Greene, Closser). I think Schneider can have a higher AVG than he showed last year.

To me, the top 13 catchers are usable (Pudge, Javy, VMart, Posada, Varitek, Kendall, LoDuca, Piazza, Hernandez, Mauer, Barrett, Estrada, Lieberthal) and then there is a sharp dropoff.

Granted, Piazza isn't what he once was but he'll end up being more valuable than 4 or 5 of the guys listed there.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

i don't think he'll bat above .260. I think last year was a fluke just look at his career numbers.
