Here are my preliminary lists...I'm not completely done with my rankings yet..

2B
Alfonso Soriano
Marcus Giles
Jeff Kent
Mark Loretta
Jose Vidro
Jose Reyes
Bret Boone
Ray Durham
Luis Castillo
Todd Walker/Chase Utley

If I find that Figgins will get consistant playing time he'll move up into the top 10 somewhere. Also there's a pretty big drop off after the 1st 4 IMO.

SS
Miguel Tejada
Nomar Garciaparra
Derek Jeter
Edgar Renteria
Michael Young
Jimmy Rollins
Rafael Furcal
Orlando Cabrera
Carlos Guillen
Bobby Crosby/Kas Matusi

A big dropoff after the 1st 5 also after top 9 IMO.

SS

I think Todd Walker is gonna bounce back in a big way now that he is the full time 2nd baseman

I wouldnt wait on a 2b if you want a good one, because after the top 4 you hit the gutter pretty fast. Walker is a good sleeper. If you want to take a risk on roidboy Boone go ahead.
SS
Tejada
Nomar
Young
Renteria
Jeter
Cabrera
Furcal
Eckstein (STL will benefit him greatly)
Crosby
Guillen

I really like Young in Texas. I think he can certainly put up numbers better than Renteria and certainly better than Jeter.

I like the list here. Young had fallen down on all other lists above and I was suprised because I believe he is easily the 2nd best SS this year.

Wow. Lot of people undervaluing Jeter IMO. He's hands down the #2 SS behind Tejada.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

After Tejada, 2-5, kinda get bunched together. I thing they get selected on one's personal preference.

Tejada is obvious and I can't argue with ranking Young at #2 so hands-down was a little strong. You can make a case for Nomar at #3 (although I think it's an unecessary risk) which would leave Jeter at #4 at worst. There is no possible way I can see Renteria or Furcal or any other SS not mentioned above Jeter. JMO. ;-)
