He's a met? Thats the best veteran signing they've ever had! The Big Cat is awesome. He'll bring some fire, fun, and solid power pinch hitting to any team. Look what he did for the giants a couple years ago.

He only gets the 600K if he makes the team. He's a class act so hopefully he'll be a positive influence on the younger guys. ;-)

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

He'll hit his 400th career HR wearing a Mets uni. That's cool. Should draw a few extra fans to Shea. I like power off the bench. That's something the Mets needed. We still don't know who will be the Mets everyday 1B. We may see a platoon of sorts if the Mets don't sign Delgado and settle for a lesser option.

I like him and his experience but do you really think that he will draw some fans?? You did say a few so I guess that family members count, right?? :-b

he's worth the 600k just for the leadership he'll bring to the team. He definitely has no fantasy worth though.
