Why else would Houston clear the Miller salary. They know they're getting him.

Houston let Miller go because they couldn't offer him anything lower than 80% of his 2004 salary, which was around 5 million, and they were concerned with paying an injured pitcher 5 million dollars in 2005, when he might not contribute till 2006 .. . Houston owned Wade Millers rights till 2006 so that is the only reason they let him go. It had nothing to do with Beltran.

I think Beltran is either goin to stay on the Astros or sign with the Yankees. I dont think any team will offer him the 10 year $200Mil deal that his agent Boras is requesting. I do think Yankees are waitin for everyone to bid and then Steinbrenner will outbid them all by 10 Mil... that's wat i think will happen but who knows.

Personally, I would tell Borus to take his 200mil and stuff it where the sun don't shine.

Yes, the yanks would love to get beltran, but RJ is more important to me.
The Mets will probably make a play for beltran, offering in the neighborhood of 7/125. george, instead of letting beltran go, will probably throw some stupid # out there to get the ny media talking about the yanks, instead of the mets. 8/140
