All this Sox hate...

You can't blame them--they've got to keep up with the Joneses in the Bronx to at least have a fighting chance at a playoff spot, especially since teams in the West have retooled a bit. I'm sure this was in the works when it looked like NY would surely get the Unit.

At least you have to respect their (Theo's) methods -- signing incentive contracts, not overpaying anymore on hype-based albatross contracts, no "no trade" clauses, etc. Clement was a fair price for a good pitcher, Wells and Miller both have incentive clauses, and Mantei is a gamble for little money. In some ways the current Sox management plays better with their money than "small market" teams do.

You can't ask any team not to be the most resourceful they can with their allowed level of expenditure.

<--Hoping Miller's arm doesn't fall off in '05

wow, a 6 page thread about wade miller 8-o

something has to be wrong with him for this to happen. If not, steal of the offseason for theo and crew. I have no idea how healthy this guy is. I guess we'll see. If he isnt hurt, the astros are freaking morons

i think Theo signed him for one reason only .. the playoffs .. most teams don't have that luxury and probly don't expect much from him during the regular season

Wade Miller is always geting hurt and I just can't see the Astros not tendering him unless there were serious concerns. It was not a lot of money and the Astros are not fools. Then again, who knows.

I hope the New England Patriots lose in dramatic fashion....by say like 86 points ...
I hope the Boston Celtics never see another banner, for at least 86 years ...

LOL...I second the motion.

"Whineing sniveling little punks"...LMAO.

It is amusing to see the venom being spewed to a team other than the Yanks (esp. on this unabashedly Yankee haters board).

Seriously though, the Red Sox take a risk and calculated gamble. I see nothing wrong with that.

I'm not a Sox fan whatsoever...but I know a good deal when I see it. Congrats Boston, but I still hope you tie for last place with the Yankees in the East. :-B
