A report out of the Dominican Republic states that the Giants and Moises Alou have agreed to a two-year, $13.6 million contract.

I really hope this is true because as a Met fan I definetly don't want him. Hopefully now we can sign Maggs and Delgado and I'll be more than happy.

It seems the reports that the Mets had come to terms with Alou were premature. ;-)

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

That seems to be a bit much to me, but at least the Giants get a bat for the lineup.

Don't worry, once he's in my "In need of explanations part 2" thread he'll hit 40 jacks this year. :-D

Sean Tracey has my apologies, we all know Ozzie Guillen is an idiot. I'm rooting for you!

Is Alou signs the Giant's starting OF in 2005 will be 38, 39 and 40 years old! :-t

Never in the history of baseball has a championship team had such an old outfield. The Giants have absolutely no vision for the future. In 2006 this team will hit rock bottom. Their minor league system has produced ZERO quality position players in the 13 years...

theyre trying to win a world series with bonds. Adding alou to bat 5th with help the Giant sget back tp the playoffs. IMO, they need a strong starting pitcher too.

every year i read about alou being old and that he won't produce anymore, and almost every year he goes on to have a pretty good year. he won't be the answer for the future of the giants, but they need someone who will produce now while bonds is still around.

it's pronouced MOY-zes ah-LOO :-b

Maybe he can show Bonds how to toughen up his hands. ;-)
