Doesn’t anyone find it funny that all of the Yankees huge title runs came back before free agency? There will never be another monopoly like that. Yet, people still recall those as the golden days of baseball.
yep, and the Yankees never "bought" Babe Ruth either.

Agreed. It's a poor debating tactic to try and label the other position similar to communism.
You pinko!!!
YanksFan--do you think the system is fine the way it is, then?
Depodesta took that LA team into 1st place last year. Not bad. He's picking up the pieces from the Piazza, Sheffield, Konerko deals gone bad.
This is a bit off topic, sorry. I can't believe all this Vasquez bashing? The guy has 3 whole postseason games. Pettitte in his 1st 8 postseason games was bad, a 5.68 era. Maybe they should have bagged on him?

And what's with this Brosius was clutch? In 58 postseason games he hit a staggering 245 (278oba). I wish all the NYY were as clutch as him.

Brosius won 98 WS MVP didn't he? Got some very big hits in that series. He hit a big HR off Kim in the 2001 WS. Had his moments at other times also. It is when you get the hits and what you do for the team. Brosius got some very important hits in some very important games and was a solid player all round. No one said he was Pujols. No one expected him to be be. Not too many Yanks were hitting much of anything in 2001 against Mr Johnson and Mr Schilling 5 games of 7. Look through the raw numbers as stats do not mean diddly if their context is not understood.
As for Mr. Pettitte, he was always overrated IMO as he was always Jekyl and Hyde on the mound. COuld not beat the late 90's Tribe if his life depended on it. Lost 2 games in 01 WS in horrific fashion. Also pitched very well in other games. What has that got to do with Mr. Vazquez? Pettitte was runner up in 96 for AL Cy Young. Won games in the pennant drive. All Vazquez has proven is he canhave a very good month when he can pad his stats against the Rox, LA and SD in inter-league play. That is the sum total of his Yankee accomplishments...1 very good June and one pretty good APril against largely inferior teams.

So in 58 postseason games he had a nice 4 games in 98. Anyone in a 58 game span is going to put together a few games. You guys walked over that 98 SD in 4. You would have won with WRVERES at 3b.
When you get the hits? Context? So a hr in the 9th is worth more then one in another inning?
Scott hit a nice hr in 01 off a scared 23 year old (Kim) true. It was a nice hit. But Scott also hit 167 in that series, with a 167 oba. It means every time he walked to the plate, he was out 83.3% of the time. You can't win if everybody does that. Btw, if Scott in game 7 in the 9th inning, takes that dp grounder and takes the dp, instead off just going to 1st, Rivera likely gets out of it and NY wins. Not a clutch play by Scott in a big moment. 1 WS hr in a (4-24) series, and one nice 4 game stretch in 98 (9-16), out of 58 games doesn't do it for me. You are forgetting the tons of failures he also had in those other games. How bad is a 278 oba in 58 games? If every NYY did that, you guys would never ever get out of round 1 again.
