Does Pedro Feliz have a starting spot?

Postby J35J » Tue Dec 21, 2004 6:43 pm

I was just looking through some depth charts and just realized that it doesn't look like Feliz has a starting spot in SF. Is he going to get traded or is he just going to be a roll player?

He'll just be the backup to Snow at 1B and to Alfonzo at 3B.

Soop .. nice avatar ..

No really, ...Nice .. ;-D

Felipe Alou was quoted the other day that he plans on getting Feliz a ton of AB's this season. He will back up 1B and 3B and will probably see sometime in the outfield, giving rest to all three of the senior citizens out there.

I myself think that Feliz could have a very solid season if he was a starter. He did very well last year in his at bats

Haha thanks B-), but you haven't seen anything yet though .... the sig is in the works. :-D

Anyways, I don't believe Feliz will be seeing much work at all in the outfield. All of his work will come at the corner infield positions and shortstop, because the signing of Moises Alou leaves them much deeper in the outfield--with Tucker, Torcato, Linden, and Ellison (all of whom I expect to see decent action) as the backups--than they are at the corners. I agree with SHOCKandAWE about Feliz possessing solid value .... he is definitely on the rise and you can expect 20+ HR and 80+ RBI out of him again this season, I guarantee it.

Pedro Feliz was not talented enough defensively last season to play SS. I would not expect him to get any time there next season.

I thought Feliz was finally turning into a solid fantasy player last season until he became "fatigued" about 2/3rds of the way through the season. You are not supposed to get fatigued before you are 30, especially when you are not even an everyday player.

The fantasy community, at least in these parts, thinks a lot more highly of him than they should. I have been watching the guy for four years and I do not think that he should be valued as more than a fantasy bench player unless he ever lands a job with the Rockies.

yeah..he really teased us with that power last year. I hope they do get him his ABS because he'll qualify at 3b, SS and 1b this year.
