I like Doug Davis and I consider him a decent sleeper for next season. I'm not ready to project an improvement upon last season's numbers, but I think my projection would him give him decent value in most leagues:

131 K, 11 Wins, 4.21 ERA, 1.37 WHIP, over 180-190 IP.
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.

I don't expect much out of him, but I guess I could see these projections coming true. I think his ERA will be a bit higher.

I think there are better options.

His should be a great value pick in most leagues. I think he has some room for improvement next season as well.

I think he will be under valued next year. I used him all last year and was very happy with the results considering I got him off waivers. ;-D

rangers fans know what they are talking about when speaking of davis.

i also don't expect much and i was really surprised with the season he had last year. don't think he can repeat it.

IP/ST/QS/W/ERA/WHIP/K/KD9

117 19 14 9 3.462 1.333 83 6.38......1st half
90.3 15 10 3 3.288 1.273 83 8.27......2nd half

As you can see Davis got stronger as the year went along. That KD9 of 8.27 in the second half was great. WHIP and ERA improved. He was one of the top pitchers in Quality starts last year, unfortunately he plays for Milwaukee and that doesn't translate into W's.

I for one will snag him if he's around in rounds 15-20. ;-D

i, too, reaped the benefits of ddavis trading for him in early may..8 times in 04 he gave up 2 runs or less and did not get the win..in 04 he improved his K rate and gave up fewer HRs and if that trend continues he certainly can win 12-14 gms w/150 K in 200 IP and an ERA 3.75-3.90 and decent whip
