Perez just went with the 7th pick and those picks arent in the order i put them. here is the order they went

Bonds (ouch)

Perez
I hoping that helton drops down to my pick.

i am not sold on sheets. good potential but lets face it just one good year. i'd like to see another before drafting him that high.

oh im not saying im going to take sheets. Im hoping he slips to my 3rd round pick at #42 then ill probably take him. If prior is still left at #14 he will probably be the only one I take. It just worries me about all the young pitchers getting hurt. So I might just take 2 hitters and then pitchers for my 3rd and 4th round picks. What is your guys' thoughts on maybe taking a combo of Helton and Miguel cabrera for #14 and #15.

Chalk me up as one of those who doesn't like to draft pitchers early, I would most likely go back-to-back with a couple bats.

The only SP I'd even consider here with the 14 or 15th pick is Mark Prior. I doubt Helton will be available there, but you might be able to get Miguel Tejada and/or Alfonso Soriano. I would also strongly consider Manny Ramirez with one of those picks as well. IMO, I'd much rather start my team with two of those stud offensive players than a young, unproven SP.
