Just starting a new league this year. I have the last pick in the first round 14th overall and then the first pick 2nd round 15th overall. Do you think it would be early to take sheets? or is he a 1st rounder, and what other picthers would be considered 1st rounders this year? Oh and its a keeper league.
Sheets at 15 is a little early but since you're next pick isn't until 42 you have to grab the best bat available and an ace at 14/15.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
it kinda depends on who's available at the time, but if u want sheets, u gonna have to take him as one of ur two picks there. if he's a 1st rounder in a 14 team league...yes, he could be. would i take him in the first round...prolly not, i'd go for a hitter.
pitchers who i consider 1st rounders are santana (lol) and maybe schmidt and RJ. i'd put sheets in a group with schmidt and RJ...late 1st round, early 2nd.

I'd put Santana and Prior as likely 1st rounders in a 14 team keeper league - with Sheets, RJ and Schmidt as possible 1st, likely 2nd rounders. If you want Sheets, I agree you'll likely have to take him at 15 as it's highly unlikely he'll be there at 42. 15 would be a little high for me, though.

So far Prior hasnt gone yet, he would be my first pick. I plan most likely going with a hitter and pitcher. So far here are the picks.
Beltran
A-rod
Pujols
Vlad
Bonds
Santana
It is a keeper league so I would want a guy who is no older than 32 so I dont think I will take RJ. Most likely if Helton is still left I will go with him and a pitcher maybe Prior, Sheets or possibly Zambrano.
I'd say if you really want a pitcher go with Prior, with Sheets as another option. I think you could get a better player than Zambrano at that point in the draft.
