The Best Pitcher on the Market is NOT Carl Pavano

I had Odalis all last season, and the worst thing about it (which is no fault of his) is that the frikkin Dodgers scored no runs behind him.

I actually joked that Odalis should sue the Dodgers for non-support.

I think he's a very talented guy who'll produce wherever he pitches.

Im quietly hoping the Tigers land Perez and stake a claim to the best value signing for SPs this offseason. ;-D

Realisticly though I have a feeling we will end up signing Lowe for WAY WAY too much. :-t

Perez had a little problem with giving up HRs in 2003, but I like his control. Solid ERA and he keeps a lid on the walks.

I had him during his first season with LA and it worked out well. But, he's been somewhat frustrating since.

Maybe Odalis, but Clement over Pavano? Where's the backing for that? Clement is just as, if not more risky, and hasn't had a year like Pavano.

That would certainly fit the pattern of the Tigers management. (I'm a native Michigander, and despite my avatar the Tigers are my #1 team.)

As much as I'm not a big fan of Lowe's, pitching at Tiger Stadium (er, I mean, obnoxious-big-bank Park) would probably be great for him. The big outfield would be very nice for him, and the Tigers have a decent infield defense. I haven't really been looking at infield defensive stats/rankings recently, so I could be wrong on this, but the Tigers certainly have a better infield defense than Boston.

Of course, I'd much rather have Perez.

I still have not figured out why the Yankees aren't going after Odalis...and signed the one-year wonder Wright. He's a bit temperamental at times, which may hurt him at Yankee Stadium, but he's the perfect lefty for the back of the rotation.

I'd love for the Yankees to sign Odalis. I think he'd be a great pickup. Too bad it doesn't seem like Cashman thinks so too :-/

there are a lot of teams who would love to have Odalis Perez. I'd love to see him back in a Braves uniform.
