The best pitcher on the market IMO is ODALIS PEREZ.
The guy pitched in 2004
196 Innings
128 K's
44 BB
thats more then 3 times as many strikeouts to walks ratio.
3.25 ERA
1.14 WHIP
.250 OPP Bat AVG
If not for the worst run support ive ever seen his 7-6 record (31 starts) would probably look like 15-8
3.31 ERA AT DODGER STADIUM
3.21 ERA AWAY from HOME
So he prooved he can pitch anywhere.
From 2002-2004
so thats the last 3 years Odalis Perez
34-28 (93 Starts)
3.55 ERA
424 K's
128 BB
.247 Opponts Batting Average
Last 3 years CARL PAVANO
36-31 (85 starts, 101 appearances)
3.99 ERA
364 K's
143 BB
.263 Oppontets Batting Average
Perez kicks pavano's ass in every category.
yet Pavano is getting a FAT contract from the Yanks, offerse everywhere else and a ridiculous amount of attention
IMO this guy Odalis PErez is HIGHLY underrated and I FAIL to comprehend why all the teams in the game are not licking their lips at a chance to sigh this hidden gem.

I would rank the best pitchers on the market as follows...
Pedro (for next year ONLY)
Clement
Radke
Odalis

I think Pedro and Radke are off the market now.
I like Odalis, but I wouldn't give him $7 million/year to pitch in NY/Boston. He'd be best to remain in LA (or the NL in general).
Clement looks bound to Anaheim. He could put up similiar #'s to Escobar. I don't know if I'm Anaheim that I depend on him come playoff time -- he's faded terribly the last 2 years with the Cubs. He had nothing left come playoff time.

Am I the only one here that is concerned that Perez's shoulder and bicep injuries from last year will flare up again this season?

What kind of history does Odalis have for causing problem. My opinion of him is a whiner. I did have him a couple years ago and he was disappointing. Joe

actually..last year at home:
3.31 1.13
Road:
3.21 1.15
2003 was another story but I think it's because he's getting better each year.
