By the way, have you ever heard the quote attributed to Terry Francona about Kevin Youkilis' nickname:

"I've seen Kevin in the shower.... he ain't the Greek God of ANYTHING."

I love that line. :-D

Still no link though. I highly doubt the A's would trade for Youk to be a DH, and there's no way he's switching to 2B. Hanley Ramriez, if he's as highly touted as I've heard, could be a possibility to Oakland I'd guess (though I hope not).

I read Youk somewhere too. The impetus was that Arroyo/Hanley were what OAK sought, but BOS would be more agreeable to Arroyo/Youk. I think it's all just wishful rumors, most likely drummed up in Boston, but it sure would be nice if it weren't.

I have a feeling Billy Beane will get his way with Youk. It may not be this year or next but he will be an Athletic sometime in the future.

Trust me on this. I heard this comment come from a very good source who I happen to know very well.

Wouldn't they have to move Durazo first to make room at DH?

Also, acquiring Youkilis would actually seem to be against the Moneyball philosophy at this point. Yes, he fits the bill in terms of OBP, but he is hardly undervalued (the core of the philosophy) since every GM in the league knows that Beane gets a stiffy over him and has tried to trade for him multiple times.
