Mook, save your derisiveness for the Baltimore fans. That's the team likely to land him.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

You honestly think Delgado will be better than Sexson for the next few years?

I doubt it since Amazing has only been here since March 2004.

I'd be willing to bet it's for real....just not on an internet bulletin board.
As a Mets fan I have to question the direction they are going. I know they are in New York and everybody wants to win now, but I wish they would have taken a step back the last few months and given this direction a little more thought.
Pedro does not in my opinion make them a contender next season, and he is going to be a huge problem in years 3 and 4 of the deal.
The Kazmir trade still has me puzzled. What the hell was that? Why not keep Kazmir, Wright and Reyes and try to build something. Ship out Piazza, Floyd and see if you can get a little younger. Then mix in some more reasonably priced veterans and lest see where we go.
They are headed for problems, and adding a Delgado or Sosa to the Benson and Pedro debacles is not going to help.

But I like the direction Minaya is steering the Mets. Pedro is a good pitcher. There's no problem with having veterans, you just have to have the RIGHT veterans. Veterans who are there for more than just "veteran leadership," but also for their stats.
