rumor has it he will take less to stay in stl but his agents and/or the union is pressuring him to take the highest offer.

He obviously wants to stau with the Cards. If the money is even remotely close I can't see him leaving.

Say what you will about the MLBPA, but despite a semblensce of fiscal sanity the past couple of years by the owners, the Union has again prevailed as all it took was one idiotic trade and sign of Benson by the Mets and the whole market is a mess again. They are getting the results for their players, even if half of them may end up dead by age 50 due to roids.
