He obviously wants to stau with the Cards. If the money is even remotely close I can't see him leaving.

Say what you will about the MLBPA, but despite a semblensce of fiscal sanity the past couple of years by the owners, the Union has again prevailed as all it took was one idiotic trade and sign of Benson by the Mets and the whole market is a mess again. They are getting the results for their players, even if half of them may end up dead by age 50 due to roids.

KMOX reported that the Cards final offer was 4 years, $32 mil. The Sox countered with 4 years, $36 mil. The questions is now, "Will Edgar leave his 'home' for $4 mil over 4 years?"

Supposedly, the Cards also put a deadline of tonight on the offer because they are getting sick of waiting out Edgar and not being able to make a move on free agents because of him.
