Paul Byrd to the Halos

From Rotoworld...
The Angels have agreed to terms with Paul Byrd on a one-year deal, TSN's Ken Rosenthal reports.
Byrd apparently will join Bartolo Colon, Kelvim Escobar and John Lackey in the rotation. It looks like the team will continue to pursue Matt Clement and attempt to trade Jarrod Washburn.

They keep getting better.

I like that move for them. He is not a dominant pitcher but should be decent for them.

that's official it looks like:
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=1946387

and trade away Ramon Ortiz to the Reds for no one particularly great.
i had hoped the Bravos would keep Byrd :(

good value signing for the Angels, but i tend to think they could have gotten more for Ramon. then again i think they just wanted him to go away.

Byrd is good but just not a good fit for the Braves. I think they'll be ok if they can land Hudson or Millwood or both

I think most teams would be OK if they land those two. ;-7

When did Millwood become anything great?

Everyone loves Kevin Millwood for 2 reasons:
#1 - He won 18 games for the Braves 2002
#2 - He pitched a no hitter in 2003
Those are the only two reasons why he's considered good, which he's no, he's average at best. But he'll get paid like a top notch starter because he can get sold as one, the market value for any .500 pitcher is great, and Scott Boras is his agent. Don't be fooled, avoid him in the fantasy baseball realm...

At $5M for 1 year, I think the Angels overpaid just a little for Byrd. They must be expecting 2002 results.
