In his senior year of college, Rickie Weeks batted .500 with 16 HRs and 27 SBs in only 158 ABs. That's why everyone is drooling.
But last year, in AA at Huntsville, he hit .259 with 8 HRs in 479 ABs. Also, he had 11 SBs, which is decent, but he got caught stealing 12 times. He's still got some learning to do. One telling stat: in college, in addition to those 158 ABs, he walked 46 times and K'ed 17. That's almost Bonds-like. Last year, in AA, however, he K'ed 107 times and only walked 55.
Another: in his senior year, his OPS was an insane 1.606. Last year in AA it was .773. You can see why Milwaukee drafted him. You can also see why he ain't ready yet.
