Koskie passes physical

Postby Mookie4ever » Tue Dec 14, 2004 11:53 am

It's not mentioned in the story but Koskie passed his physical last night. A news conference is planned for 11:00 am in Toronto to announce Koskie as the new Jays third baseman.

I guess they are also going to announce that Hinske moves to first.

The Blue Jays are trying to trade Eric Hinske to the Reds so that they can pursue Corey Koskie in free agency.
No word on what the Jays are looking to receive. The Reds aren't a great fit for Hinske. He's owed $12.95 million over the next three seasons, and top prospect Edwin Encarnacion should be ready in 2006. The Tigers or Mariners might make more sense.

that's all I could dig up

TOR fans - can you give us a sense of what to look for this yr with the team you project they will have? Maybe a lineup and rotation?

What do you expect from Rios, Wells, Koskie, Halladay? Are there any guys we should know about that might break out?

The Jays have talked to everyone about trading Hinske. JP and the Jays coaching staff failed miserably on Hinske just like they did on Josh Phelps and they are giving up on him (just like they did on Phelps).

Nobody wants him right now but look for him to be a throw in on a future deal. The only team that actually seemed interested in him was the White Sox.
