What is the intrest in all these players looking at Detroit. It is killing my keeper teams.

The St. Louis Post - Dispatch reported today that he prefers to stay in St. Louis:

Joe Strauss wrote:Renteria could not be reached for comment Monday but an associate who had spoken with him about his free agency indicated Renteria has little desire to accept an offer from the Detroit Tigers and, all things being equal, prefers remaining with the Cardinals.

Also - for another Tigers update, apparantly Detroit is in the hunt for Odalis Perez too.

A few weeks ago the Post posted an article that Glaus would only play on the EC. I take reports like these with a grain of salt.

Would Guillen then move to second base? BTW, I'm all for teams like Det Milw etc signing stars, regardless which other 'big market' franchise is targeting them. It's simply good for baseball as a whole...maybe a little guy will land Beltran too B-)

Renteria Returning

They're a very reliable source they were the first to break the Pujols signing amond other things, so I'm taking this as close to being 100% true. ;-D

Interesting....we'll see how this plays out. I'd like to see it on one of the major websites before I call it official though.
