I feel that we're in the mix on a couple of them, a couple trades, a couple free agents, but I'm not at all in a position where I think we're the frontrunner. It's one of these streaks for whatever reason, it's been hard to get people to commit to sign. And it hasn't been through lack of effort, it hasn't been lack of presentation, it has not been through lack of finances. ... But it's just that they haven't selected our situation."

Its nice to have the cash, but you gotta get the players to sign. I am still holding out hope for Beltre.

Here's an interesting take on the Tigers and Renteria situation - also updating the bullpen situation. Apparantly Urbina is going to be our setup man and will report to ST on time (still a touchy situation). Otherwise Rodney is fully recovered and pitching lights out in winterball.

True...Detroit is in a similiar situation as the Mets as they both have to overpay right now to lure free agents to come and play for their team.

Its not too late to jump on the bandwagon fellas. Detroit is moving in the right direction. We will compete for the division this yr, and within 2-3 yrs we will be talked about as an upper-echelon team - watch. Our farm is getting pretty stacked - especially with arms. Last yr our hitters snuck up on people, next it will be our pitching that suprises.

Its a really good time to be a Tiger fan.
