Is Mota the Closer in Florida?

Are the Marlins going to sign another closer or is Mota the man? Will he be any good?

he is pencilled in as the closer and with marlins being penny pinchers they arent expected to sign anyone else. he was one of the better middle relievers and projects to be a good closer but you never can tell. dotel was formerly one of the top middle relievers but he seemed to struggle some as a closer as did latroy hawkins.

From what I have heard, McKeon might rotate Mota and Alfonseca for the closer role.

As far as I know it's his to lose. I agree with jd about SU guys going to the closers role though, so I wouldn't go into the year with him as my main guy for SV's.

the marlins really have no one on their roster with his stuff, so he should be the closer unless he blows it in ST or early in the season...... if u can get him as a 3rd save option i think he will be just fine for you

It's his to lose, but he'll likely be on a short leash with Alfonseca there. But I do think he starts ST with the job.

I hope he closes. He was a great set up man and maybe can carry it to the next level.

he'll prolly start the year closing in FLA. a good MR doesn't necesseraly turns into a good CL. but i think he'll be fine
