Hey Guys,
My subscription to Sports Weekly is up and I was thinking about going in other directions. Personally, there is too much football crap in there for me. What do recommend I get for Fantasy Baseball? What are the best fantasy baseball monthly mags? How about some good baseball mags? Any recomendations are appreciated. Joe
Sports Weekly is not bad..not great either, but not bad. I agree and liked it better when it was Baseball Weekly. I am sure there are some niche Fantasy periodicals around filled with stat-head Jamesian geek writers giving you statistical drivel that will lead to conclusions like who needs a closer and Ks do not matter....but you can gather my opinion on them already.

There's a difference between "baseball analysis" and "fantasy analysis". It also helps to get the information right. SDCN didn't say closers and Ks don't matter. They said closers are overvalued and Ks are no worse than any other out, but they are revealing about a player's development.

Who would publish a fantasy periodical that ignored strike-outs and saves, seeing as they're counted in almost every league? If you want to post your address, I'll see if I can't figure out a way to FedEx you a hug for Christmas.
From a fantasy standpoint, the PETCOA projections at http://www.baseballprospectus.com are a valuable tool. They aren't done with the 2005 projections as of yet, however.

I need a Fantasy stathead "expert" to tell me that for fantasy purposes K's are no worse than any other out? Wow. Worth the price of the subscription without a doubt.
Or that closer's are over-valued in 5x5 (I presume)?...stunning...doesn't every 2nd year fantasy player with an 3 digit IQ know that? You need to run statisical analysis to come to these conclusions?
